Abiodun Oke

Business Support Assistant, Corporate Services

Abi is a part-qualified accountant with an Accounting and Finance degree. Prior to joining the NHS, she volunteered to work with the rehabilitation of repeat offenders. She has also worked as a Patient Advice and Liaison Officer.

Pharmacy Project Manager, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

Aisha has worked in community and hospital pharmacies as well as a PCT in support technician roles. She worked for NHS City and Hackney for two years before joining LPP as specialist Pharmacy Support.

Business Manager

Alda has extensive experience previously in the charity and public sector. As well as a background in licensed event management, she was formerly a court officer in both the County and Royal Courts of Justice. She has worked for LPP since 2011, and oversees LPP corporate services.

Ash Fraser

Ash has private and public sector procurement experience. She was the procurement manager for an IT reseller before joining King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as the Procurement Services Manager in 2009. She later held the role at both KCH and GSTT as part of the Shared Procurement Service. More recently she was responsible for the procurement of clinical and non-clinical equipment for large capital projects at KCH and has experience in Agency and Temporary Staffing. Ash is MCIPS qualified and a Prince II Practitioner.

Azhar is a practising GP who has worked as a respiratory lead, diagnostics lead, KHP Children and Young Peoples’ Health Partnership LTC lead and “Singing for better breathing” GP lead for Lambeth. He has also filled the role of lung and primary care co-lead for Guy’s and St.Thomas’.

Bal has more than 20 years experience of public and private sector procurement, in healthcare, financial, telecommunications, manufacturing and Managed Document Solutions. Bal delivered and increased usage of the LPP Managed Document Services framework and supported more than 40 organisations nationally to achieve efficiencies and savings ranging from 40% - 80%. Bal is now delivering the Clinical and Digital Information Systems Framework (CDIS). CDIS will enable health and social care organisations to be fully compliant with the government’s Personalised Health and Care 2020 digital strategy.

Chris has experience of public and private sector procurement in healthcare and has worked in Acute NHS trusts for over eight years, gaining experience in a wide range of clinical and non clinical categories. Prior to joining LPP she was Assistant Head of Procurement at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

Chris has spent the past few years as a MedSurg category specialist, managing various areas including Procedure Packs, Orthopaedics and more recently Cardiology. Prior to this he worked in the private sector, primarily in procurement, planning and logistical roles in food manufacturing.

Darush Attar-Zadeh

Pharmacist, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

A pharmacist, behaviour change specialist and national public health trainer, Darush has specialised in the field of smoking cessation for twenty years and is part of the London clinical senate delivery team. He works as a CCG respiratory lead in Barnet and is part of the LPP team project managing on cardiovascular disease.

Systems Development and Integration Manager

Graeme has over 20 years of software development experience. Whilst at Merton Council he developed the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) platform which is now used nationally by both the private and public sectors to pre-qualify suppliers. He is an Umbraco Certified Level 2 Developer and has an MSc in Information Technology.

Jackie Eastwood

Outsourced Medicines Supply Services Coordinator, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

Jackie is an experienced hospital pharmacist with a background in technical and clinical pharmacy services to patients. She has specialised in intestinal failure and nutrition for the last 17 years. She was the Chairman of the British Pharmaceutical Nutrition Group for six year and is currently chair of the stakeholders group for the national framework for home parenteral nutrition and a member of the National Homecare Medicines Committee.

Jas Khambh

Jas is an experienced pharmacist who has worked in the NHS for 14 years as both a pharmacist and a senior manager. She established one of the first area prescribing committees and one of the first joint formularies across primary and secondary care which has been acknowledged as a model of best practice by the NPC. She leads the QIPP agenda for medicines and pharmacy across London.

Laura brings private and public sector marketing and communications experience to LPP, having directed her own agency prior to joining the NHS in 2010. She has managed marketing and communications for household names including Samsung Cameras and Nestlé. While living in Vancouver Laura established the marketing and communications function for the Land Title & Survey Authority of British Columbia. She’s also a Prince 2 Practitioner.

Laura Whitworth

Laura has worked in procurement in acute trusts for more than eight years gaining experience in a broad range of category areas. Before joining LPP in 2012 she was the Procurement Projects Manager at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. She has full MCIPS and an MSc in Procurement which included a dissertation on the application of lean principles in the NHS.

Lee Joseph

Chief Operating Officer

Lee has more than 15 years' purchasing experience gained across a variety of industries. He has held senior sourcing positions at blue chip companies including JCB, Unipart, GE and Health Trust Europe. Academically, Lee has an MBA in Chinese Negotiation Strategy, a Post Graduate Certificate in E-Commerce and a BA (Hons) degree in American Management Science.

Levente's background is in Economics and Finance, and he gained his experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining LPP he was providing financial analysis and modelling for Health Education England, and was also involved in extensive statistical work and development.

Mario Varela

Managing Director

Mario joined Bart’s and The London NHS Trust in 2004 after a two year secondment from NHS PASA where he was an Associate Director of Purchasing with responsibility for £1.5bn of NHS expenditure. He worked closely with policy leads and Ministers on high profile government projects. Mario transformed the focus from “transactional” to “added value” at Bart’s through investment in professional expertise and modernisation of processes through technology. This delivered in excess of £35m in savings. He has been leading LPP since 2009 and appointed as its first Managing Director in 2011. He is a graduate in Business Studies with an MBA, is a full member of CIPS and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

Nicco has delivered Medical & Surgical projects for LPP including Orthopaedics, Trauma Orthopaedics, ICDs and Pacemakers, and Laparoscopy. He was also Head of Clinical Procurement at Chelsea & Westminster NHS FT.

Nicola Atack

eEnablement Lead

Nicola's career in the NHS began in 2007 when she joined the King’s College Hospital procurement department. She was the procurement systems lead for the trust’s Omnicell cabinet implementation and in 2011 she became the Head of Systems for the Guy’s & St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital Procurement Shared Service, responsible for all procurement technology and requisition processing across both trusts. She has an MA and is a Prince 2 Practitioner.

Oleksandr Lyubych

Oleksandr joined LPP from NELFT NHS Foundation Trust where he worked in clinical procurement specialising in purchasing medical supplies and service outsourcing. He is MCIPS qualified and has a Masters degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management. He is also experienced in e-sourcing, Integrated Business Processes and Project Management software.

Pauline is a hospital pharmacist leading on Cancer and Chemotherapy for a District General Hospital and a member of the London Cancer New Drugs Group. She was the North West London Cancer Network Pharmacist for five years and is now an active member of several groups for London Cancer Alliance.

Philip Aubrey

Secondary Care Lead, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

Phil is an experienced hospital pharmacist by background who works as a Medicines Procurement Specialist for both London and East of England. He has been pivotal in using therapeutic tendering as a method of leveraging lower prices on branded medicines. Phil is a member of many national procurement groups including the Pharmaceutical Market Supply Group (PMSG), National Homecare Medicines Committee, Pharmacy Business and Technology Group, National Biosimilars Sub Group and Transitional Medicines Sub Group. He is also the Chair of the National Branded Medicines Sub Group of PMSG.

Poe Thant

Systems Analyst, Business Intelligence Team

Poe has a degree in Development Studies and an MA in International Business Management. Prior to joining the LPP as an Analyst, Poe worked for South West London and St Georges’ Mental Health NHS Trust. She supports the maintenance and administration of all internal LPP systems and applications.

Rebecca Fisher

Dietetic Project Manager, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

Rebecca is an experienced dietitian and has worked in community and acute healthcare, adults and paediatrics. She is leading on the nutrition workstream and coordinating dietetic work in this area. Rebecca also manages the paediatric dietitians at the Royal Free.

Richard Humble

Workstream Lead, Agency and Temporary Staffing

Richard has worked on a number of high profile projects across government including the setting up of the Criminal Records Bureau, implementing a cost recovery system for speed cameras across the UK and developing an activity based costing model for the Magistrates’ Courts in England and Wales. Prior to joining LPP he worked for the Department of Health on projects to improve cardiac rehabilitation services and to improve care for people living with dementia.

Rishi Rampersad

Business Intelligence Manager

Rishi is a qualified pharmacy technician with over 10 years NHS experience. He spent five years working in hospitals in a number of different pharmacy roles, including pharmacy procurement and financial reporting, and four years in a PCT dealing with GPs and providing prescribing analysis and strategic pharmaceutical support. He has developed dashboards and reporting systems which have been used by London and three other SHAs.

Vicky is an experienced pharmacist with a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy. She is currently studying for an MSc in Economic Evaluation in Healthcare. Vicky has been a pharmacist manager in the community and a specialist clinical pharmacist in hospital. She is a pharmaceutical advisor for Ealing CCG, a NICE Medicines and Prescribing Associate, and at LPP leads a project addressing prescribing variation in diabetes.

Zhi is an experienced .NET developer who has spent the past few years developing web applications and commercial systems for public and private sector organisations. His expertise also includes systems integration and IT projects.
