Nutritional prescribing at discharge project

In 2017 the Nutritional Prescribing Group elected to look at issues at the interface of care.

There is a lack of data on acute hospital prescribing of nutritional borderline substances (NBS) at discharge. This is likely to be a result of:

1) the procurement model for nutrition favouring providers, with the zero or penny pricing in hospitals being offset by the FP10 cost.

2) the perception of nutritional products as being low risk
