The Academy at LPP

The aim of the Academy at LPP is to build a Pipeline of Procurement Talent across the NHS, in collaboration with all our partners. Helping our people to be effective, efficient whilst providing the best possible service for our users, both now and into the future.

The Academy uses a variety of educational routes acknowledging that everyones learning journey is unique.


  • The Academy will cater for all levels of apprenticeships  specifically in Procurement and related subjects.

  • The Academy at LPP will run the Plus Programme designed to add breadth to the programmes enhancing the knowledge skills and behaviour of our people and supporting individual Trusts with outcomes, help around the Widening Participation Agenda.The Academy uses a variety of educational routes acknowledging that everyones learning journey is unique

This is an NHS Specific Course written by CIPS there are 2 levels available

    • Practitioner which is equal to the Diploma  Membership
    • Advanced Practitioner which is equal to MCIPS and subject to three years experience in a responsible procurement role.

All work on this course is assessed there are 2 face to face workshops for each unit - CIPS consider that there is at least a 10 hours of weekly study to achieve this programme.

Coaching is a form of development in which a person called a coach supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance.

Introductory course for procurement sector,  4 day basic including including a 360 Feedback Career Review.

Learning Action Set Training

Action learning is an approach to problem solving. It involves taking action and reflecting upon the results. This helps improve the problem-solving process as well as simplify the solutions developed by the team.


The trailblazer is a Project Board of people working in a particular area across a number of sectorsFor example 'procurement'.

The aim is to write with the help of the Institute of Apprenticeships a nationally recognised qualification known as a Apprenticeship when published and during development as a Trailblazer.  It is important to have companies involved and complementary educationalists on the board.
