Award win for Poe Thant, Strategic Analyst at NHS LPP

We are excited to announce that Poe Thant, Strategic Analyst at NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP), was awarded with the Regional NHS Champion in Support of Procurement Award at the HCSA Excellence in Supply Awards London and South 2024.

The event, which was held in London on Thursday 18 April 2024, was a chance to celebrate the innovative work taking place in the procurement community.

Poe won this award for her work on the Biosimilar Dashboard to aid efficient medicine procurement, and for the commitment and ingenuity she has shown in creating this tool which greatly supports her pharmacy procurement colleagues.

Poe’s work on this included iterating the look and feel of the dashboard, providing clear explanation and commentary on what the data was showing, handling errors and anomalies with the data in an open and transparent way and managing compromises where different requirements were presented to her from different stakeholders.

The award nomination highlighted how there has been excellent feedback on the dashboard Poe has produced, noting how the tool will really deliver tangible benefits and savings to pharmacy procurement departments across London, by identifying where biosimilar drugs can be used as a direct alternative and where the largest opportunities could be.

On receiving her award, Poe said: “I am deeply honoured to have been recognised with the Regional NHS Champion in Support of Procurement. Originating from Myanmar, the path to success has been paved with challenges, but each obstacle fuelled my determination to give nothing less than my best.

“This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work that have characterised my journey. I am grateful for the opportunities afforded to me, and I am more inspired than ever to continue striving for excellence in all that I do.”

Lee Joseph, Managing Director at NHS LPP, said: “We are all very proud of Poe for winning this prestigious HCSA EIS award. Poe’s collaborative working approach and her commitment to going the extra mile is inspiring. On behalf of everyone at NHS LPP, I would like to congratulate Poe on this fantastic achievement.”
