NHS LPP welcomes Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellow

NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) is delighted to announce a new clinical appointment to its Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement team which will further enhance the pharmaceutical support it provides to stakeholders.

Kalveer Flora has joined NHS LPP as the new Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellow on secondment from London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust where she has been working as a Lead Rheumatology and Biosimilars Specialist Pharmacist.

Bringing years of clinical experience into her new role, Kalveer’s key responsibilities at NHS LPP will include working on the Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurementstrategy.

Kalveer said: “I am thrilled to be given an opportunity to grow, flourish and share my expertise in this new role with NHS LPP. The NHS is evolving and there is a truly unique opportunity for pharmacists to drive change at all levels of system leadership.”

Kalveer’s professional interests include sustainability, digitalisation of the NHS to improve efficiency and extended roles of pharmacists - all of which she hopes to work on throughout her fellowship.

Kalveer added: “I am also looking forward to learning more about contracting, procurement and frameworks at NHS LPP.

“I am a huge believer in networking and cross-functional working.  The fellowship is the perfect opportunity to develop links with other healthcare organisations and workforce collaboration.”

Jas Khambh, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director for Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement at NHS LPP, said: “We’re so pleased to have Kalveer joining our team. Kalveer brings with her a huge amount of insight and knowledge from her range of clinical experience, and this will greatly benefit our work with stakeholders.”

Over the coming months, Kalveer will be writing a memoir of her time spent at NHS LPP and the work of the MOPP team, so please do keep any eye on our website and social media. To give you a taste of what is to come, hear from some of our pharmacists and the work they do at NHS LPP to celebrate World Pharmacists Day on 25th September 2021:

“It is really rewarding to be able to make a difference by supporting the improvement in health of local populations. Enabling medicines use to be optimised through better management of patient pathways really helps us to make a difference.” - Jas Khambh, Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Director for Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement at NHS LPP.

“As a pharmacist, I’m leading a project that will help to deliver equitable access to medicines across London’s nine million residents. I started in the post amidst the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and had to quickly master novel ways of working collaboratively across organisations.” - Tanya Serebryanska, Senior Pharmacist for Medicines Optimisation and Formulary.
