NEW - NHS PiP Radiopharmaceuticals and Associated Consumables framework

Available now for all NHS LPP members.

NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NHS NOE CPC), on behalf of NHS Procurement in Partnership (NHS PiP), is pleased to announce the launch of our Radiopharmaceuticals and Associated Consumables framework.

The framework has been set up to provide a one-stop solution to assist NHS trusts with their nuclear medicine needs, including nuclear medicine therapy, nuclear medicine diagnostic non-imaging and nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging.

Radiopharmaceuticals, a group of pharmaceutical drugs which have radioactivity, can be used as both diagnostic and therapeutic agents. The drugs emit radiation, which is different from contrast media which absorb or alter external electromagnetism or ultrasound.

Products included under the framework cover:
• Generators
• Cold kits
• Dry kits
• Therapy capsules
• Ready to use radiopharmaceuticals
• Generator accessories, secondary shielding, elution tools, saline, vials.

All isotopes and kits used for the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals are licensed for use in the UK as defined in the Medicines Act 1968, while all products comply with the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC.

All suppliers are able to supply validated evidence of cold chain and NOE CPC can assure customers that this framework utilises quality assured suppliers.

This framework’s suppliers are compliant with the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and the Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009.

Savings against standard list prices are available on a vast selection of products within the framework.

NOE CPC is confident this framework will give trusts every confidence they need to be able to fulfil the requirements of any nuclear medicine department, despite some issues within the market for molybdenum from low enriched uranium resources.
