NHS LPP hosts first staff wellbeing cooking competition
Staff wellbeing is a key priority at NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP). As part of that focus, we recently hosted the inaugural NHS LPP Healthy Cooking Champion Competition where staff could make culinary creations to impress a panel of judges and potentially win a wellness voucher.
The winner of this first outing was Graeme Webster, Assistant Director, Systems & BI (above top left with Head Judge Glenys Worley, Specialist Dietitian, Food Service and Staff Healthy Eating from GSTT). Graeme presented a pan-fried salmon triumph to win the judges' approval. Other chefs who entered the competition were staff members Adam Howes, Andrew Stradling, Annissa Chi, Harry Taylor, Sarah Corbo and Simon Rowland.
The chefs’ creations were marked on taste, appearance, nutrition, cost, labelling and ease of preparation and each dish had to include 3 of Your 5 A Day in order to qualify. Joining Glenys on the Judges’ Panel were Jordan Cato and Nathan Jones from NHS LPP.
The competition was made possible after NHS LPP was successful in its bid for funding from the GSTT Showing We Care About You campaign. The next competition will take place in the autumn and there will be two more before the end of the financial year.
