NICE reference RightBreathe as source of information
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has referenced an NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) initiative as a source of information in relation to inhalers used in the treatment of certain respiratory conditions.
RightBreathe, which has been spearheaded by our Healthcare and Pharmacy Services team (formerly known as Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement), is a website which has been developed and managed by NHS pharmacists and doctors to help improve control of those living with asthma or COPD with their inhalers, and supports patients and prescribers to find the right information they need to make the right choices.
Jas Khambh, Clinical Director for Healthcare and Pharmacy Services and Chief Pharmacist, said: “It’s great to see NICE reference our RightBreathe portal and this demonstrates just how supportive the website can be to provide information on different inhalers which are licensed for adults, young people, and children with asthma. It’s been a real collaborative effort to ensure we support patients and that the information they need is easily accessible.” Please find a link to the NICE reference here.
The website features pictures of the inhaled devices to help people recognise which inhaler device they’ve been prescribed and links to videos on how to use them - bringing together all the available information about all the inhalers which their doctor, nurse or pharmacist may prescribe for them in the UK.
